History

Our founders were not your typical agents. They were University College London (UCL) students from Hong Kong pursuing their studies. They saw an unfairness and  imbalance in the student housing market and they went out and started something with the goal of finding foreign students a perfect home. Since day 1, the essence of keeping them to work and study university at the same time was not only about the commission – Reputation and customer satisfaction, came first.  Because of this, it was natural that more landlords and buyers came to see them. Estate agency and buying agency were formed shortly after they graduated and now, we have everything in the same place. More professional, more knowledgeable, bigger business but keeping the same principles when they first started – to create a fair ecosystem where everyone’s a winner.

ACCREDITATION

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ESTATE AGENTS (NAEA)

NAEA was founded in 1962, and is the leading professional body for estate agents in the UK. As members of NAEA, we abide by a nationally recognised Code of Practice and work closely with HMRC to ensure we comply strictly with all monetary laundering regulations. All members of NAEA are held to account regularly and as a NAEA Propertymark agent, we offer maximum protection to our clients in their property search.

ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENTIAL LETTINGS AGENTS (ARLA)

ARLA was formed in 1981, and is the UK professional and regulatory body for residential letting agents in the UK. As a ARLA Propertymark agent, we are backed by the Propertymark Client Money Protection scheme and offer greater protection to consumers. Also abiding by a nationally recognised Code of Practice, ARLA members provide professional indemnity insurance, and are up to date with complex legislative changes whilst upholding the highest standards of practice.

THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN

TPO is a free, impartial and independent alternative dispute resolution service, and is a government approved scheme to provide independent redress in disputes between consumers and property agents. As members of TPO, we adhere to the Code of Practice for Residential Estate Agents, which offer additional protection beyond what is required by the law.

HOMELET

HomeLet is the UK’s largest tenant referencing and specialist lettings insurance company and provides fast, accurate and reliable tenant references to landlords to ensure the best tenants for their properties. Panda Residential uses HomeLet to ensure that both landlords and tenants are protected.

TENANCY DEPOSIT SCHEME

The TDS is a government approved tenancy deposit scheme and is fully compliant with UK legislation on tenancy deposit protection. The TDS offers insurance backed tenancy deposit protection as well as free, impartial dispute resolution in the event of any disagreement.

INFORMATION COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE

The ICO is the national data protection authority and independent regulatory office dealing with the Data Protection Act 1998. It is responsible for the enforcement of data protection in the UK, and as members of this scheme we comply strictly with data protection legislation in the United Kingdom, meaning that any information given to us by our clients will be treated with utmost confidentiality and privacy.

ANTI MONEY LAUNDERING REGULATIONS

Panda Residential is supervised by the Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and work closely with them to ensure that all Panda Residential business complies with all money laundering regulations and legislation in the United Kingdom. As registered members of this scheme, it ensures that all transactions in real estate through Panda Residential meet all of the obligations set out by these regulations.

CLIENT MONEY PROTECTION

The CMP Scheme is run by Propertymark, and is a compensation scheme providing a means of protection for landlords, tenants and other clients in the event of misappropriation of funds. It is a mandatory requirement for all agencies in working in the property sector and gives further protection to our clients.
